If you're late one day, it's not a big deal. Cut yourself some slack, but get to work right away when you get there.But if you being late gets to be a regular occurrence, it's essential that you talk with your boss about the problem and get it fixed ASAP.If you don't, verbal warnings become formal write-ups, and those become termination papers. And in many states, termination with cause (you violating company policy) can prevent you from receiving unemployment benefits.
